How does parametric insurance trigger payouts?

Instead of visiting fields physically to assess crop damage, the protocol monitors regional IoT sensors and weather satellite feeds. When actual precipitation drops below or exceeds the configured trigger threshold (e.g. 45mm over a 30-day crop cycle), the smart contract executes immediate payouts to policyholders.

Do I need ETH (Ether) to pay for transactions?

No! InsureStream smart accounts are fully compatible with ERC-4337 smart account standards. All user transactions (such as approving tokens and buying insurance) are sponsored gasless by our Circle paymaster contract. Users only pay the USDC/EURC premium.

How is weather data verified on-chain?

We use a decentralized network of cryptographic oracle nodes. When sensor nodes report telemetry data, they sign it with unique HSM private keys. The verification contract checks these signatures on-chain before executing a policy settlement.
